Check out Twalala, a RailsRumble project by the Mashable City team based out of Providence, RI.
It’s a Twitter mashup (which it looks like quite a few Rumble apps were this year) that lets you choose who and want you want to see. It adds a sort of “silence” filter to block certain terms/users/etc from your updates while still keeping those users in your friends list.
The Rumble just ended so the app is still probably a bit unstable at this point and performance may be off and on for a while, but its definitely worth a look.
