MMA Quick Notes

MMAHQ.com Quick Hits

Just a few quick news and notes items from the past weekend…

  • MMA-Europe.net is reporting that the “Vale Tudo News” notes former PrideFC star Ricardo Arona has signed a new four fight deal with M-1 and will make his M-1 debut in December. While no official opponent was named, it is assumed he will be fighting Fedor Emalianenko
  • According to George Garcia, co-host of TAGG Radio, Frank Trigg is currently in talks about joining the WEC. The WEC is in need of a challenger to current WEC middleweight champion Paulo Filho and Trigg seems like a big enough name and worthy enough opponent.
  • The UFC 78 fight card scheduled for November in New Jersey continues to be shaken up. Hector Lombard was unable to obtain a working visa to enter the USA from Cuba. His scheduled opponent, Karo Parisyan will now face Ryo Chonan instead. Chonan’s original opponent Thiago Alves will now face Chris Lytle instead.
  • Look for a big announcement from MMA HQ in the next few days. The MMA HQ Top Ten Rankings site is nearing completion and I will be opening the site up to some of the readers here to help me do some initial testing.
